after the markets, my favorite place to walk around in mexico city is the network of busy streets in the center of town. each street is dedicated to one type of product, stores upon stores selling the same thing, the products spilling out of the shop doors and organized in stacks, hanging, in rows by color and size. a street for metal clasps, one for car parts, another for foam rubber, another for custom made letter press invitations. my favorite is the street of rope stores i found last time i was here.
